We had to say good bye to our sweet Nana Bear. All of her grand great kids called her NaNa Bear, which I thought was the best name ever! This was Wyatt and Madelyn's first experience with a death of someone that was near and dear to their hearts, so I wasn't sure how they would react. They reacted like we wish we all could react. We told them we would see her again one day in heaven and she got to go see Jesus first, and that's all they really needed to make it all better. The evening before she died we dropped by, but we didn't get out...I can't remember why....Wyatt says..Mom they cooked or something..they are having a party...we need to go....it wasn't quite a party, but in his eyes...that's what we always did at NaNa Bears house...we gathered together to make memories...memories that will last forever! And, oh how she enjoyed sitting in her chair just watchnig them make those memories! Everyone had gathered together one more time to say Good Bye to NaNa Bear. We quietly told him no, we were not missing the party, that NaNa Bear was really sick and everyone was there to make her feel better. But what a great way to look at it...a good bye party for NaNa Bear....I shouldn't say good bye....it's a going away party! Then, the day of the funeral...they did really well. Madelyn wasn't shy at all......she wanted to be right by her NaNa Bear and her NaNa Lucia. She says oh Momma, look at this beautiful treasure box they got for my NaNa Bear.....they got her this beautiful box for when she goes to see Jesus! She says we need to take her picture because this is the box she's going to see Jesus in! I didn't know it, but she had packed her camera in her purse...So, I asked Mrs. Lucia if it was okay if she took a picture, and she said it was fine. To only have the mind of a child again! We went to the burial and she made sure she left her NaNa Bear some flowers!
We had great big camping plans in the Airstream for Labor Day, but good ole mother nature had different plans! Tropical Storm Lee showed up.......even though we were disappointed....I was just glad the power never went out and it wasn't anything worse then a Tropical Storm by the time it got to us! Kids tried to make the best of it!
yes, their heads are nice and covered, but they could care less about their feet! That's how they like to roll.....bare foot!
We did finally make it camping! My most favorite place ever! Fountainebleau! I love to prop my chair under those trees and watch my kiddos play for hours! We were glad to have Dylan and Annabelle Mack with us! They had the best time together!
Their ingredients for clam soup!
They had this really cool sail boat show up. I don't think it's really called a sail boat...it's actually called something else, but it looks like a sail boat to me! Isn't it purdy!
Daisy loves to camp too! Yes, she's in a baby stroller and she loves every second of it!
Pine Tree Festival Pageant! She got 2nd! She did so good!
My long lost cousin Nathan Holland was there! His little girl was in the same pageant! I have seen them in years! It was so good to see him! He has the sweetest spirit! He couldn't wait to hug my neck and introduce me to his children and lovely wife!
Bunkette Spa Day! Had to be one of the best days of 2011! We miss you Julie!
You guessed it....we're back at the Fountainebleau! I meant every word of it when I said I love that place! This time I made them take better pics!
Trying to catch the allligator with the turkey neck!
Finally got em!
I'm like the biggest BIG BROTHER fan ever! I have been watching since season 1! We actually played a little game at the office on who could pick who would win, and I won! If you remember from last season......our great state of Louisiana at representation from Prairieville in the form of Shelly! Shelly's daughter Josie takes gymnastics at Cheer Force where Madelyn takes Cheer! She was so nice to us...she talked and talked and talked!
Miranda Lambert Concert! It was so good! I really enjoyed it!
But, the best part was when the Pistol Annies showed up! Oh MY WOW! Loved every second of it!
Horse Parade 2011!
There they go to get lined up!
Other than my kiddos....this was my favorite horse in the parade! So cute!
Wyatt rode the big horse this year, so Madelyn could ride Little Bit (the little horse) Sweetie did pretty good for the parade......not so much for the awards part.
Many Thanks to the best Uncle 2 ever for walking Madelyn!
And he walked Barrett too and campaigned a little along the way.....see he really is the best Uncle 2!
Time for the Show! Horses did great! We usually get 1st and 2nd, but this year we got 2nd and 3rd....we had a little bit more competition this year!
While Derek was showing Little Bit with Madelyn, Sweetie was not being very Sweet. Wyatt was on her waiting for his showmanship ....I don't know what happened really.....I do know...Sweetie went nuts all of a sudden and kicked another house and rared back.....we got Wyatt off safely....you would think he would be a little nervous after that, but NO....he says Mom, this was the best day of my life....I got to ride a bucking bronco!
Happy Birthday to sweet Collin! Horse Parade actually fell on his actual birthday! I'm sure he'll get that a lot as he grows up!
Always great to see Logan! His little brother did so good out there!
Logan even rode for a little bit too!
Little Fun after the Parade at the Hi Ho! |
Fair time has always been a special time for Derek and I! It's kind of like our anniversary! This particular fair time was our 20th fair together! We're 34 now, and we've been together since we were 14. I can remember like it was yesterday changing my clothes 20 times to make sure I had the perfect outfit to walk around that stinkin fair 100 times with 10 bucks! That's what we got...10 bucks a night, and we could make it last all night!
This marriage thing is pretty tough sometimes...I'm not saying it's happy and perfect all the time, but we work at it and it gets better and better! I love my husband so very much! I love to hear Derek sing...he sings really nice, I love it even more when he makes up his own words to the songs....catches everyone off guard! I love to hear and watch him play ball with Wyatt, and I love to see him grab his little girl up and give her a big ole Daddy Hug! I love to hear him tell his mom and dad that he loves them every single time he talks to them. I love to share those moments with him when our children do something funny, cute or just trying to figure something out for the first time.....I love that we can look at each other without saying a word to each other and savor the moment! I love it that he has learned to cook really well, because I don't really like to cook that much, and finally, I love it when he reaches over to hold my hand every night right before we go to sleep....I love him!
Fair Time with the Mack and Morgan kids!
Bridget doesn't miss a chance to ride!!! You can tell she's loving it!
Other than spending time with Dylan at the fair.....this is Wyatt's favorite part! Riding that bull! He's pretty good at it!
He tried to get Dylan up on that bull....
They almost had it!
And every time we walk over by this little roller coaster.....they say...Mom, remember that time you busted your butt on those steps.....Oh yes...I remember! To give a little bit more of the story, so I don't sound like a complete clutz.....the steps were wet!....because we all know it rains during fair time....every single year!
LSU Tailgatin Time! We were so excited that Justus and Dana could be with us! Since, I'm writing this like 6 months later.....I can add to this a little bit! Madelyn always says...when can we go camping again at LSU!
Doesn't my girl look so pretty in the above pic! And check out J with that awesome short hair! I love it! |
My first time to go to the Comedy Club! It was funny....I enjoyed msyelf.....but some things you only go to once in life...kind of like...I don't really care if I ever go back to Las Vegas.....this is one of those things....they say the same jokes on tv! But, I enjoyed my company! It was nice to spend the evening with a few of my bunkettes and my date for night...Mrs. Julie!
Bill Engvall
Bill Engvall

Wyatt's Field Trip to the Alligator Farm. Insta Gator Farm in Abita Springs. The drive out their is beautiful and it's truly a fun place to visit!
My beautiful banana tree had a beautiful fall bloom! Too bad you can't eat those bananas!
Crazy hat day at school!
Pumpkin Patch for Cooper's Birthday! That's not Wyatt with my girl....It was youth hunt at the camp...He was too busy slaying deer!
Congrats Wyatt! Looks like a gut shot to me...but she was down! Way to get the meat for the family!
Happy Halloween! 2011.....Of course i had to work until 5:30, so when I got home...Derek had the kids dressed....he even dressed himself a little bit! Never too old for Halloween right!
First year I can't say...Wyatt is a super hero and Madelyn is a princess....I'm not really sure what they were! But, the liked it!
One of my favorites! That's Libby watching TV in Wyatt's room with the football helment on! That's right Libby...Geaux Tigers!
Fine bunch of Morgan kids!!
Shout out to my sister and her husband real quick! Their new album released on April 10th. We are so excited for them...I can't wait to see where our Lord will take them with this album! I am so very proud of my sister! I have awesome memories of playing Sandi Patty as a child....Of course she was always Sandi Patty and my friend Jennifer and I were always the back up singers! We would play that for hours and hours! Me and Jennifer would plan everything out for our "show" and she didnt' care that we planned, because as long as she got to sing.....she was okay with any plan! She's a real life Sandi Patty now, and I know she doesn't care what God's plan is for her....as long as she gets to sing for him! I am trying to help them get the word out about their album....2 reasons....it's sooooo good I want everyone to hear it and secondly because I'm her sister and I want everyone to hear it because it's so good! Just go to Itunes and in the search box enter Fike! If you can't afford the entire album...My favorites are Grace, Jehovah, Wait, Be Still, That's Why I Praise and The Moment We've Been Waiting For. To give a few more details......I get the "goosies" as Jennifer Lopez would say during the song Jehovah when Fike sings...I know my God...I know his name and then Dana comes up in the background with her magical voice signing Jehovah! Also, I love love love the song Grace! It's so awesome to sing along too....But, my favorite part of that song is...What sets the sinner free...What brings me to my knees...It's your Grace that found me....it's your grace around me! Love that part..We thank you for your grace in Jesus Name Amen!
Check them out!
